私たちが想像している以上に、海外で和食は浸透しているようです。
寿司の大好きなイギリス人もいます。
あるアメリカ人は「家族全員和食が好きだが、高くて困る」と言っていました。

私が懇意にしているイギリス人は、ロンドンではなく、地方都市に暮らしています。
そこにも和食レストランがあるそうです。
店名が「ワガママ」という日本語の名が付いています。
日本で言う、マクドナルドのようなチェーン店らしい。
夏の間は一品の料金で、二品が食べられるサービスをしていて、彼は奥さんと、ほぼ毎週通っています。
英国人が、つゆを飛ばしながら、汗まみれになって食べている姿を想像すると、楽しい気分になってきます。
うまいんだけど、シャツにしみが付いて、汚らしくてかなわないらしい。
洗濯機で落とせないとぼやいています。

p.sと書いた後で、まだ書きたいことがあるときには、p.p.sと書くんですね。

p.p.s. we are going to a Japanese restaurant chain called Wagamama tomorrow as they are doing two meals for the price of one over the summer. We have been there nearly every week over the summer holiday. Do you have them in Japan? I bet it is like your version of McDonalds over there but I do like the food- very delicious but very messy. My shirts bear several stains from the noodles which our washing machine cannot remove!.


英国では食事のとき、音を立てるのは無作法と聞いたことがあるので、どうなのかなと書いてみました。
外国人が和食を好きになってくれるのは、なぜかうれしいものです。

Wagamama means selfish or self-willed in English.
Even the Japanese cannot eat Udon (noodle) without getting stains.
I hear the English hate making a noise when you eat anything.
We Japanese make a big noise when we eat Udon.
The noise makes us feel the food is very delicious.
I think there are no Wagamama restaurants in Japan, but a Japanese restaurant chain may have named their restaurants in England Wagamama.
We are happy to hear foreigners love Japanese food.


食事中、音を立てることに対する返事はありませんでした。
無作法だよ、と言えばこちらが気分を害すると思ったのかもしれません。
甘いうどんが好きらしい。
うどんの味が甘酸っぱく感じるのですかね。
もしかしたら、英国人の好みに合わせているのかもしれません。


The dish I like best is called Amai Udon I think. It is very delicious as I like sweet and sour food.
I cannot wait until tomorrow lunchtime!!.
